Every student will work one on one with these top NY professionals.
In order to continue to challenge our advanced students, these one day classes are designed for prior Winter and Summer Intensive participants, current private coaching students, new students who have been approved by BAA staff at a local NYC or National Audition, or by special invitation.
Class size is typically limited to 12 to 20 participants, depending on the class. Enrollment will be closed two weeks prior to the Master Class date, or when the class hits it's capacity of participants- whichever come first.

10:30am - 1:30pm ~ [title of show] star Susan Blackwell works one on one with each particpant to determine their best "16 bar audition" specifically appropriate for a contemporary musical theatre audition in the style [title of show] (Please bring at least 2 possible selections). Susan will also aid participants with exercises that focus on comedy, character development, and improvisation.
1:30pm - 2:00pm ~ Lunch Break
2:00pm - 5:00pm ~ Song Interpretation Master Class with a representative from Telsey & Co Casting, the casting directors of [title of show] as well as shows such as Wicked, In the Heights, Legally Blonde, and Broadway's upcoming Spiderman! Participants will have the opportunity to receive one on one feedback from one of Broadway's leading casting directors, focusing on appropriate song selection and interpretation.

Norm Lewis charmingly hosted an "Auditioning for Broadway" master class for 15 young participants ages 8 through 21. Students focused on song interpretation and what to expect from a Broadway audition. Additionally, Jason Snow (The Little Mermaid, The Music Man, Hairspray, etc.) led an advanced dance master class, teaching combinations in the style of The Little Mermaid. The young artists also benefited from training in musical theatre scene study.

10:30am - 12:30pm ~ Megan McGinnis of Les Miserables (Eponine) led a "Song Interpretation" class. Participants brought their best 16-32 bar audition selections and received feedback from a current Broadway star! Megan is most widely known for her portrayal of Belle in Broadway's Beauty in the Beast. Other Broadway Credits include: Thoroughly Modern Millie, Parade, The Diary of Anne Frank, Little Women (Beth), and of course Les Miserable (Eponine). Song selections were from the contemporary musical theatre repertoire, in the style of Les Miserables.

1:30pm - 2:30pm ~ Participants learned a group vocal selection from Les Miserables.
2:30pm - 5:00pm ~ Song Interpretation Master Class with a representative from the current Casting Directors of Les Miserables (Tara Rubin Casting)! 12:00pm - 2:00pm ~ Heather Parcells led "Auditioning for Broadway - The 16 Bar Vocal Audition"
Heather worked one on one with each dancer/singer to determine his or her best "16 bar audition" specifically appropriate for a contemporary musical theatre audition in the style of A Chorus Line
2:00pm - 2:30pm ~ Lunch Break (with guest visits by additional current A Chorus Line cast members!)
2:30pm - 5:30pm ~ Song Interpretation Master Class with a representative from the current Casting Directors of A Chorus Line! Participants had the opportunity to receive one on one feedback from one of Broadway's leading Casting Directors, focusing on appropriate song selection and interpretation. Participants additionally had the opportunity to perform one of the dance combinations learned in the morning Master Class.
