The Mission of Broadway Artist's Alliance is to provide professional level training in the musical theatre arts for promising young artists by affording them the opportunity to study with current Broadway artists and directors who will challenge their development. Broadway Artists Alliance Summer Intensive & Winter Workshops
for young professionals and promising artists aged 10 to 21.
Our working theatre professionals challenge Summer Intensive & Winter Workshops participants to surpass the level at which they are currently performing, through workshops, master classes and rehearsals. Instruction and coaching will be offered in vocal technique and performance, sight singing and song interpretation, monologue work, scene study, as well as intensive work in ballet, tap, jazz and musical theatre dance.
Outcomes include:
Students will learn the expectations of the professional theatre rehearsal environment including being on time, fully participating in rehearsal, and spending free time practicing the repertoire taught in class.
Students will be exposed to current Broadway choreography and music and will master new repertoire from current Broadway shows for the culminating showcase.
Students will work together as a collaborative group.
Students will set goals, in writing, for their future development and plans.
Students will brainstorm and be able to articulate the professionals behaviors expected of them in shared spaces such as the Alvin Ailey Dance studios and Dodger Stages.
Students will develop a greater appreciation of the many professions available in the performing arts community.
Students will develop their performance technique, strengthen their creative talents and build confidence in a challenging yet supportive environment.
