Jason Robert Brown

(Composer/Lyricist) has been hailed as “one of Broadway’s smartest and most sophisticated songwriters since Stephen Sondheim” (Philadelphia Inquirer). Jason won two 2014 Tony® Awards for Best Orchestration and Best Original Score for the production of The Bridges of Madison County and also won a 1999 Tony® Award for his score to Parade. A film version of his epochal off-Broadway musical The Last Five Years was released in 2015, starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan, and directed by Richard LaGravenese. Also in recent years, Jason composed and wrote lyrics for Honeymoon in Vegas, which ran on Broadway in 2014. Other Broadway credits include Urban Cowboy (Tony® Award nominated for the score), 13 The Musical. Off-Broadway: Last Dance, Long Day’s Journey Into Night. Off-Off-Broadway: Songs For a New World. His songs have been performed and recorded by Audra McDonald, Betty Buckley, Karen Akers, Renée Fleming, Philip Quast, Jon Hendricks and many others.  Jason has also conducted and created arrangements and orchestrations for Liza Minnelli, Tovah Feldshuh, and Laurie Beechman, among many others.
