Getting to Know Your Student Advisor

What was the first Broadway show you ever saw?
The first show I saw on Broadway was Beauty and the Beast in 1996 when it was still playing at the Palace Theater before moving to the Lunt-Fontanne.  Since then, I have made somewhat of a habit of seeing shows in their original location before transferring to another home (i.e. The Lion King at the New Amsterdam before it moved to the Minskoff, and Rock of Ages at the Brooks Atkinson before it moved to the Helen Hayes).

If you could pick any Broadway star to have coffee with, who would it be and why?
If I could sit down for a cup of coffee with any Broadway star it would have to be Elaine Stritch.  She has been in this business for so long and worked with the most influential figures Broadway has ever seen.  I think I could learn a lot and have a few laughs from having a chat with her.

Who inspires you and why?
My biggest inspirations are the orchestrators, arrangers, conductors, and music directors of Broadway shows.  I saw the names of these people printed on sheet music and countless scores as a kid and it was always my dream to meet the people who made my favorite music playable on the piano.  It’s been so wonderful to live in NYC and to have the chance to meet and work with the people who made me want to work in this business in the first place.
